Celeb trainer Jillian Michaels is no stranger to cellulite. And neither is starlet Kim Kardashian . In fact it is estimated that between 80 to 95 percent of women have cellulite somewhere on their body. If you have been worrying about of bit of dimpling on your backside, fear not, because you are not alone. Here are five things I think you should know about cellulite. From a purely medical standpoint cellulite doesn’t exist; it is nothing more than fat. The word cellulite is French and was first used in medical literature around 150 years ago. Cellulite is more prominent in women than in men due to the structural differences of stored fat between the sexes. The connective tissues that create these storage units in men works on diagonals, where as we lucky ladies store our fat in a large vertical honeycomb like structure. This structural form enhances the appearance of the dimples. Here’s the bad news – there is no way to get rid of cellulite. None of those creams, lotions or rubs will get rid of the dimples caused by cellulite. Topical creams cannot penetrate the three layers of skin to eliminate the fat. Learn what you can do about cellulite.

DVD Review: Core Fusion - Thighs & Glutes

Our friends over at the Exhale Spa have done it again. First they brought you their Pilates Plus and Body Sculpt Core Fusion DVDs, and they’ve just come out with a new one to target your lower body. Core Fusion - Thighs & Glutes ($15). This video is divided into five, 10-minute sessions, so you can do them separately (you always have 10 minutes to spare, right?), or do them all at once. The exercises are designed to efficiently enhance the shape of your booty and thighs - the result is long, lean thighs and round, lifted glutes. I like that the two instructors leading this video - husband and wife team, Fred DeVito and Elisabeth Halfpapp, are the creators of Core Fusion. So I felt like I was having a private lesson with them in my living room. Many of the moves they demonstrated were new to me, and extremely effective. Expect to do some creative squats, leg and knee lifts, and booty kicks. My buns and thighs were burning in a short amount of time, and the following morning I was sore just walking to the bathroom, so I felt like this video was worth the price. If you’re looking to tone your lower half, I definitely recommend this video. To see a clip of this video read more.

Although cabbage is unfortunately associated with the soup diet bearing its name, this leafy veggie is a nutritional powerhouse, and as it turns out, it fights breast cancer too. The American Association for Cancer Research believes it is the phytonutrient sulforaphane found in cabbage that stimulates cells to kill carcinogens. In a Polish study , women who ate cabbage or fermented cabbage in the form of sauerkraut at least four times a week, if not more, were 74 percent less likely to develop breast cancer. If that is not a strong enough reason to add cabbage to your diet, know that it has been found to protect against lung, stomach, and colon cancers as well. High in vitamins K and C, the mineral magnesium , cabbage even a little bit of omega-3 fatty acids . Be sure to eat some coleslaw this Summer, but look for recipes that go easy on the mayo . The connection between cabbage and breasts doesn’t end there. To learn more continue reading.
